<p>You&#8217;ve probably tried a lot of areas focusing on your abs in an attempt to get them in shape. Unfortunately, exercise on its own won&#8217;t make you get ripped abs in the way you want. You&#8217;re also going to need to eat right and should change your diet in coordination with a workout designed specifically for your goals.</p>
<p>This is not to say exercise isn&#8217;t important. In fact, it will be the focus of this article. When you pair the tips here with the right diet, however, your results will be better than ever. In the meantime, work on increasing the amounts of various exercises that you do &#8211; unless, of course, your doctor advices against it.</p>
<p>Sometimes, the exercises you&#8217;re doing now just aren&#8217;t effective enough. The double crunch is a great, more intense, version of the regular crunch. Keeping your elbows back and your knees at a right angle, raise your shoulders as you pull in your knees while you contract your abs for a great workout.</p>
<p>An exercise you might not have heard of is the side bridge. Starting from your right side, push yourself up with your right arm until it is fully extended. Then, extend your left arm up into the air on the other side as well. Hold this position as long as you can. It also works very well on your love handles.</p>
<p>Also, try other variations on familiar exercises, like the plank superman, which comes from a basic plank exercise. Start in the position you already know, but lift an opposing arm and leg. Hold the position for a couple of seconds and then switch to the other side, doing as many of these as you can.</p>
<p>The first few times you use this exercise, you should aim for twenty repetitions, but keep adding more over time. This holds true for any exercise you want to perform. Part of the reason you might not have been succeeding is that your exercises just weren&#8217;t working you out at the level you needed.</p>

<p>One of the biggest difficulties facing bodybuilders is how can they be sure that all muscle fibers have been recruited and exhausted during a given exercise and it is only by achieving this that muscle gains can be maximised.</p>
<p>Here are a couple of tips to get you going in the right direction:</p>
<p>1. Increase the resistance of the weight you are using &#8211; Meaningful increments in the weights slowly pushes your body a little bit over the point of failure each time. Aim to reach 6 to 8 reps of an increased weight without failing.</p>
<p>2. Vary exercises &#8211; change up the exercises you do so that you aren&#8217;t always using the exact some muscles. Varying the angle of the exercise like incline press helps as well.</p>
<p>3. Take shorter rests &#8211; taking shorter rests between exercises makes your muscles work much more intensely as it has had less time to recover.</p>
<p>4. Pre exhaustion &#8211; The weakest muscle in an exercise involving two or more muscles will always fail first. This means it will fail before you have the chance to exercise the main muscle to exchaustion. To overcome this, focus on tiring out the main muscle before doing the exercise with both muscles working together.</p>
<p>5. Do supersets &#8211; supersets are done by doing two exercises without any rest in between them that focus on the same muscle groups but are different types of exercise. This will fully utilize all the muscle fibers in that muscle group.</p>
<p>6. Do partial repititions &#8211; You will not be able to complete the full range of movement for any given exercise once you reach the point of failure. Using only a segment of the lift by doing a partial rep will work your muscles beyond the point of failure. It allows you to increase intensity without adding extra routines that could cause overtraining.</p>

<p>Most fitness experts agree that your abdominals help to support and protect your spine, and thus, they must never be fatigued before doing any non ab exercises such as, chins, rows, deadlifts and squatting movements.  These &#8220;experts&#8221; state that when your abs are fatigued, you are at a greater risk of acquiring a back injury.  Based on this, the entire fitness industry insists that you must only do your ab training at the end of your workout.</p>
<p>I see their point to a degree but their philosophy is in stark contrast with &#8220;The Priority Principle.  The Priority Principle simply says that what gets trained first (while in the freshest state) will get the best training effect.  The fitness experts agree that this is a powerful principle with every single muscle group&#8230;except the abs.  Why would this principle be true for every other muscle group in the human body except the abs?</p>
<p>What if you really want to emphasize training your abs?  What if your number one goal is to get ripped, <a href='http://revealyourabs.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-pro.php?id=1' target="_blank">Six Pack</a> abs?</p>
<p>Under these circumstances, you should prioritize your training and work them at the beginning of your workout.</p>

Performing any activity that could leave you with residual fatigue prior to a maximal weights workout would be undesirable.</p>

<p>When you eat five or six portions of food each day you will never go hungry. Have one third of each food group: proteins, carbs and vegetables/fruit. Each of the three groups should be about the size of a handful. With this measurement the portions will fit your body size.</p>
<p>Since you are now eating every two &#8211; three hour it is important that you plan your meals. It is always a good idea to make food twice the size of a recommended meal and store half of it for a later meal. It is also important that you have a backup meal for when it is hard to get hold on a portion of healthy food.</p>
<p>To build muscles you will need proteins. Proteins are what muscles are made from so you must focus on getting your daily dose. Lean meat, fish and chicken are all rich in proteins. Milk, beans, grains, nuts and seeds are also good resources.</p>
<p>One third of you meals should be fruits or vegetables. It is important to use a range of different fruits and vegetables. These products are excellent for your immune system and will help you avoid cancer and heart deceases. They are also helpful in the process of growing your muscles.</p>
