Caloric intake does matter with regards to getting quick abs. If our caloric intake consists of too much non-quality foods and non-smart eating habits, then no matter how faithfully we workout, we're not going to get quick abs.

Caloric intake does matter with regards to getting quick abs. If our caloric intake consists of too much non-quality foods and non-smart eating habits, then no matter how faithfully we workout, we’re not going to get quick abs.

Choosing healthy foods and doing away with fatty, sugary, calorie-laden foods are a sure way to getting quick abs. A food intake overloaded with calories ensures that not all calories will be used up resulting in their conversion to fat.

Healthy, quality foods are more compatible with our body. These foods are more easily converted to useful energy to fuel our activities. Because they’re all used up, they won’t be converted and stored as fat, usually in our stomach area.

Choosing the right foods and consuming them in smaller amounts but more often during the day ensures that the smaller amount of calories that was just taken in, can now be consumed totally, allowing no excess calories to be converted to fat and stored in the stomach area. In addition, since digestion requires using up energy, excess body fat can be tapped as fuel when recent caloric intake is not enough.

When we add daily workouts to our lives along with choosing the right foods, we are not only promoting heart health, but we are also on our way to revealing great abs. Exercise speeds up our metabolism, which encourages the body to burn fat more efficiently.

Training with weights and intervals keep it interesting and spurs more of a fat burn by overworking the muscles. The muscles now need to repair and nourish themselves, which creates more energy consumption resulting in less calories stored as fat.

Choosing the right foods doesn’t mean skipping meals and starving ourselves. It is very important not to do this because this actually sends a signal to our brain informing it is in an emergency situation already and to start conserving calories. The exact opposite of what we want. So we should eat. Just expend more energy than we take in.

The combined efforts of daily workouts and choosing the right foods are essential to getting quick, nice-looking abs. When we choose the right foods and complement that with workouts, we are choosing the best way to getting quick abs.

In fitness, some people are confused about the topic of upper abs exercises and lower abs exercises, so here is some information to set the record straight. The main muscle, that people talk about when they discuss the upper abs and lower abs, is the rectus abdominus. Rectus means straight, and abdominus refers to the abdomen. So simply put, the rectus abdominus runs straight down the abdomen. The rectus abdominus is also the muscle that gives a lean person that six pack look.

The rectus abdominus is 1 muscle, but it has tendinous intersections that separate muscle fibers forming distinct sections. Many argue that rectus abdominus is a single muscle and you can’t isolate certain parts of the muscle. Yes, you can’t isolate only one section but you can emphasize one area over another.Confusion naturally arises when people are unclear where to use the words isolate and emphasize.

Our nervous has thousands of intricately designed nerve cells and nerve ending which help us to move with grace, be agile, be accurate and lot more functions. The rectus abdominus has thousands of nerve endings which look like an interwoven cluster of wires. These nerve endings help in coordinating various movements of the body. The upper and lower abs are also emphasizes when we do various movements. The upper abs, i.e. the upper part of rectus abdominus is emphasized well when we move the trunk forward as in crunches or sit ups. Ball crunches, crunch machines and ab training machines train our upper abs appreciably.Even though the upper abs are emphasized during crunches, crunches also work the lower abs. The entire rectus abdominus will work during any abs exercise when your trunk bends forwards or flexes.

The lower abs, which form the lower part of the rectus abdominus are emphasized whn the pelvis moves towards the trunk. This happens in reverse crunches. Leg raises and flutter kicks also work out the lower abs. You should note that even in reverse crunches the upper abs are trained but more stress is given to lower abs only.

I must warn you that these abdominal exercises will not just like that melt our fat away. Doing upper abs exercises and lower abs exercises alone is not definitely going to melt that fat away.. This is known as the spot reduction myth. If you want to lose stomach fat, you should use a comprehensive approach to fitness and healthy eating.

You must do abdominal exercises minimum 2-3 times a week. Include both upper and lower abs exercises, do various other abs exercises and from various directions to get a more balanced body.

by Dan Solaris

Most folks that have been sweating it out in gyms across the globe are doing so for a flatter, leaner stomach. A flabby gut is the first sign of excess weight and there’s nothing more damaging to one’s self-confidence than walking around the beach with a bouncing potbelly.

Only a small percentage of people who work-out regularly are happy with their figure however. Some actually give up exercising due to slow results. The most probable reason for this is they’re going about their workouts the wrong way.

Exercising effectively is the best way to stay motivated and keep hitting the gym. Doing the right exercises will produce visible results in a shorter period. In this light, it’s quite ironic that only a few people are maximizing their abs workouts considering getting 6 pack abs is one of their main goals.

Developing the center or core of the human body is arguable the best way of forming the contours and striations that give that 6 pack appearance to the abdomen. Conventional workout sessions should be augmented with exercises for the core muscles in order to hasten calorie burn. The more calories burned, the faster the fat loss and abdominal muscles exposed.

Furthermore, focusing too much on the ab muscles (a way too common mistake) leads to an imbalance of power. A strong stomach with a weak lower back will ultimately result in strain on the lower part of the spine- leaving us prone to injury.

Strengthening the abdomen, lower back, and oblique muscles means stabilizing our body’s center, its foundation. A stronger core will give us better balance, flexibility and endurance. It will give extra support for our spine and hence give extra protection against injury.

For those trying to lose weight, doing core strengthening exercises to complement their aerobic and bodybuilding exercises will facilitate rapid calorie-burn and hence fat-loss. The only way to flatten a flabby gut is to concentrate on burning as much body fat as possible every work-out session. This not only means doing whatever is necessary to prevent the conversion of calories into body fat, by maximizing the amount of calories that we burn each time we exercise.

Getting 6 pack abs is far from being an easy task, mind you. But equipped with an exercise regimen that develops the abdominal muscles quickly and boosts the metabolism to efficient fat-burning levels, anybody can get a lean, shredded physique sooner than through conventional methods.

In less than 2 months, you can get flat abs. Here is how you can do it: plan your weekly workout, train with resistance that will increase your metabolism and eat a good diet.

In less than 2 months, you can get flat abs. Here is how you can do it: plan your weekly workout, train with resistance that will increase your metabolism and eat a good diet.

In a few weeks, you can have the results that you want. Plan to exercise with greater frequency, at least 3-4 times during the week. Change your training program to include weight training. The increased weight exercises force the body to really increase its intensity and work harder. As a result, the body expends more calories during the exercise session.

Resistance training that incorporates greater number of body parts and muscles use more energy. Increasing the exercise intensity, keeping the repetitions low and minimal rest between sets are key factors to boosting the body’s metabolism.

More calories are burned from increased exertion using the energy source from food intake as well as from excess body fat. When the body is finished exercising, the body will increase its delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles to replenish and repair damage caused by the exercise session. As a result, the muscles burn more calories, increasing the body’s overall metabolism.

The greater number of workouts during the week allows the body to become very efficient at burning calories and burning the excess fat on the body. The result being the body will end up burning fat for most of the day as it prepares for the next exercise session.

Watching what you eat is the other way we control the amount of fat stored on the body. Avoiding fatty foods, eliminating sodas and deserts from your diet will help you reduce the number of calories you eat and allow your body to burn the excess body fat from your system.

Eating small meals throughout the day will help keep the body’s blood sugar stable and allow the body to consume the calories that you eat, while at the same time keeping excess body fat from being stored.

Get the body that you’ve always wanted in less than 2 months. Start by making a plan of exercise, incorporate resistance training to boost your metabolism and then eat a good diet. Follow these simple steps, and you’ll have rock hard abs in just a few weeks!

As you start to feel the burn while doing lower ab workouts, you’re better off just going to the bathroom instead of deluding yourself into thinking that your six pack abs are on their way. Most advertisements promise you incredible six packs just by using their magic machines, but get real and start training with weights to jumpstart your metabolism. You’ll be glad to actually lose belly fat and see those ripped abs revealed.

While lower ab training is excellent for strengthening and toning your abs, working a specific area will not melt away the fats there. Excess body fat is lost through full body workouts so the more joints you get moving, the more fat you start losing.

We always see advertisements and TV commercials showing acrobatic fitness models, laying upside down and backwards, showing you the latest exercise that will give you fantastic abs or showing some machine that will help you get your abs ripped.

But essentially, what you’re buying are their promises to make you look good. The rest is simply marketing. Machines that are area-specific don’t work because the concept of spot reduction doesn’t work. Targeting the abdominals serves to make that area toned and stronger but your abs will stay covered with fat.

Resistance training is a great way to really get six pack abs. When you train the big muscles of the body with heavy weights, you increase the muscle’s overall activity, which results in more energy expended. The muscles end up using up more energy and the body needs to keep providing fuel for the muscles, it will also use the calories that you eat as well as the excess body fat on our body.

When we train the body at a higher intensity, the muscles will accumulate excess carbon dioxide and lactic acid. The body must then provide blood and oxygen to the muscles to keep the muscles functioning.

The process of replenishing, repairing and removing carbon dioxide and lactic acid can occur for several hours, throughout the day. As a result, the body’s metabolism is increased and the body becomes a fat burning machine.

Spot reducing focusing on lower ab exercises will not give you defined six pack abs. TV ads and ab exercises will not give you the results you want. Resistance training to jumpstart your metabolism is the key to ab workouts. Turn on your body’s natural fat burner and get your killer abs fast!

You want rock hard abs? Functional strength training is the way to go to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. Training your whole body and working the muscles of the core and abdominals will really give the strength and appearance of rock hard abs.

by Jose Loni

You want rock hard abs? Functional strength training is the way to go to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. Training your whole body and working the muscles of the core and abdominals will really give the strength and appearance of rock hard abs.

Functional training is perfect for people with an active lifestyle. Training the body in a functional way will increase the quality of life, as we carry our children, do household chores or walking the dog. Basic strength is essential to an active and happy way of life.

Functionally training your abs is a great way to increase your overall metabolism and strengthen your body. Increasing multiple joints and muscle groups allow the body to use more energy as it needs to exert more effort. The increased energy requirement tells the body to consume more calories and results in more fat burning.

Push-ups, lunges, dead lifts and squats are great exercises that recruit many muscle groups and helps kick start the body’s metabolic activity. The increased muscle mass, which results from the training, also increases fat burning as well.

Daily household activities like cleaning, doing laundry and cooking can be turned into mini exercises sessions. By doing a few exercises a day, will help give you functional strength. While cleaning the counters, you can stand beside the counter and place your hands on the counter or wall and do some push ups or while carrying grocery bags, you can do some leg squats to strengthen the legs.

Core training is also a great way to increase the body’s overall strength. Many core exercises involve stabilizing the body in certain positions. By maintaining body positions, the muscles of the whole body as well as the deep core muscle groups need to strengthen and stabilize. As a result, core training really helps strengthen the abs as well as helps burn fat throughout the body.

Exercises that isolate movements like ab crunches don’t burn much fat. To be effective, the body must use the larger muscle groups and joints to really jumpstart the metabolism to start burning more fat. The increased metabolism actually continues to burn fat well after the exercise session as it will continuously keep repairing and replenishing the muscles of the body. This can occur for several hours after the exercise.

Functional ab strength is the key to rock hard abs. Increasing your metabolism, training the core muscles as well as the abs will help your abs get stronger as well as strengthen your body to do the activities that you like to do. Have it all – functional strength, quality of life and rock hard abs.

Free online ab workouts – are they worth trying? That is the question that many of us ask. The answer is YES! People should consider trying online ab workouts, whether it is free or free trial, for the simple fact that it is the first step to getting you active. However, you should also be aware of certain factors that are important, which are: find a program that includes diet, and one that incorporate exercises that boost your metabolism to burn fat.

Out of the great variety of online ab programs available, there are those that provide free trials and those that provide detailed descriptions of how to do specific exercises. These options are both great ways to get you moving. There are also a lot of free online ab workouts that aren’t as accurate and only provide target area types of exercises for the abs. They usually don’t talk about the other important aspect of an ab workout program, which is proper nutrition.

Unfortunately, there are also a lot of untrained people who post exercises that are just not safe to do and which actually cause injuries. These sites are usually linked to a related item they are trying to push.

Depending what your goals are, you should be aware of what the free online ab workout is about and make your decision based on knowledge. For example, if you want defined abs and the free online ab workout is just purely ab exercises and crunches. Well, that program will not work and it will just leave you frustrated.

Free trial ab workouts on the other hand, usually give you a sample of a program that will either work for you or not. Either way, you can choose to continue with the program or not.

Most often, good online ab workout programs offer a full network of support from experts in nutrition, exercise and fitness. They will also give you the guidance and motivation to educate you on diet, exercise and stress management, which gives you a full, holistic perspective.

Diet is an important factor when considering an online ab workout program. Not only do we need to do exercises, we need to watch what we eat. Avoiding fatty foods and sodas, we can control our caloric intake and help balance our calories.

Physical activity that incorporates exercises that kick-start the metabolism helps to burn fat. Resistance training and training multiple muscle groups at once will help the body burn more calories and force the body to provide more fuel to the muscles that are needed for physical activity.

At the end of the day, free online ab workouts work well to get you started, but finding the right program is still key to keep you on track and actually realize those fitness goals.

Unfortunately, those ads and machines don’t work. They are marketing their products to target the abs directly and that will not work. Spot reducing does not work. The abs will get stronger but they will not burn the necessary fat that is covering the abdominal muscles.

Burning fat still requires you to actively use your muscles and the best way is through training with weights. The harder your muscles work, the more energy they use up so the body has to constantly source more fuel for the muscles to use. This is when the body starts to look for and use up any excess fat as a fuel supply.

Working the body out more causes the muscles to use up more oxygen than is available in muscle stores. So now, the body has to supply more oxygen to the muscles to keep them functioning. In addition, the body has to get rid of any waste materials collected in the muscles as a result of constant muscle work.

This whole supplying, clearing and repairing processes requires a lot of energy and because this process takes awhile to complete, the body is constantly ‘working’ or metabolism is now raised, and the body starts burning fat.

Therefore, burning lower abs while doing lower ab workouts don’t mean you’re sculpting ripped abs. Target area reduction and infomercials serve to sell you a dream. Speeding up your metabolism through weight training will make you realize that dream!

Free online ab workouts will only work if they are effective and will give you results. Free videos and paid videos are very informative but you need to be aware of the affectivity of the exercises and if it will work for you. You need to know that spot reduction does not work, healthy eating and physical exercise is the way to metabolize and burn fat.

Free videos are great visual guidelines that help us see what is being done and how it’s being done. However, you need to be aware that the exercises are being done properly and that the exercises will not hurt you. It is also important to determine whether or not the person instructing you is knowledgeable and if the exercises will work for you.

There are also sites whose main purpose is to sell their products and they entice customers through their ‘adfo-mercials’. The danger with these is we don’t know whether or not they comply with standards nor do we know if their products are supported by legitimate research.

Spot reducing does not work. We see ab machines that press on our abs or rock our body in a crunch position-these types of products train abs directly to try to get rid of the fat but are ineffective.

In addition, tons of ab machines are out there claiming their use resulted in beautifully sculpted abs. But we need to be aware that isolated exercises and spot reduction do not work to burn fat.

By spacing out our meals throughout the day and eating smaller portion meals, our body will be better able to maintain our energy level and burn calories easier. When the body needs more calories, it will start to burn the excess body fat to fuel the body’s physical activities.

Full body cardio workouts are wonderful for sustained fat burning. When the body is training in high gear, more energy is expended to support that training. The body is constantly challenged to perform so fat is easily used up to fuel both external (exercise) and internal (clearing, nourishing and repairing) activities.

Online ab workouts that are free are very attractive and appealing to us but we need to know why You Tube may not be the best answer for our needs. Safety is a primary concern and we need to be discerning and knowledgeable to assess whether or not these videos can meet our fitness objectives.

It’s common knowledge that the road to 6 pack abs is filled with hurdles and dead-ends. A lean physique and a flat washboard stomach is something only a few fortunate members of society seem to be privileged with. Actually, staying fit and healthy has less to do with luck than dedication and knowing what it takes to keep fat at bay.

Getting rid of excess body fat and developing a nice set of 6 pack abs requires self-control and focus. Avoiding foods with useless calories like candies and fries and choosing healthier alternatives will help significantly in the fight against flab. Starting a fat-busting workout program and exercising religiously is also a must if you want 6-pack glory.

It’s not as difficult as it sounds however. Contrary to what most people think, a diet for 6 pack abs doesn’t entail munching on rice cakes and swigging non-fat milk every day. It’s actually more beneficial to eat a full, well-balanced meal three times a day- with snacks in between.

A full, well-balanced meal means the right amounts of macronutrients- carbs for energy, protein for muscle maintenance and development, fiber to help in digestion and flush out the bad stuff (this includes fat). We all know the common sources of the first two. Fiber as well as a potpourri of vitamins and minerals can be had from eating lots of fruits and veggies each day.

A lot of people make the all too common mistake of drastically reducing their food intake in efforts to get lean. This can actually deter the body’s fat-burning properties because our metabolism drops when we’re hungry. It’s better to eat sparingly several times throughout the day than to pig-out each meal- specially dinner.

A potbelly is a product of regularly stuffing ourselves- stretching out the stomach tissues until they become permanently outsized. Having a fruit or some healthy snack (the more unprocessed, the better) will prevent binging on meals as well and keep our metabolism elevated.

Of course, healthy eating habits alone won’t cut it in the fat-loss department. Doing the right exercises that maximize calorie burn and fat loss will act like a N02 button that will propel you to your goal of that rippling six pack you’ve been yearning for.

A combination of body weight aerobic exercises like running or biking, core-strengthening workouts using a wobble board or an exercise ball and conventional bodybuilding have been found to be the best in burning the most calories in less time. The more calories burned, the more fat eliminated and a flatter, leaner midsection will result.
